An-Najah News - A spokesman for Iranian firefighting units, Hamid Karimi, said that a huge fire and explosions hit a chemical factory in the Qom province of Iran on Sunday.

Strong flames broke out in the industrial region of the chemicals factory in Moldan at 06:02 local time, followed by many explosions. 150 firefighters and 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene and part of the factory had been evacuated, Karimi said to Fars agency.

Karimi said that two firefighters were seriously injured, adding that "the fire had been extinguished and prevented to reach nearby tanks which would have caused a bigger fire caught in the industrial area".
