An-Najah News - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed is keen on resumption of flights from Russia to the Egyptian resorts.

 

In an interview to Al-Ahram newspaper on the eve of his visit to Egypt today, Monday, Lavrov said that there are "promising prospects" in many areas of Russian-Egyptian relations, especially in tourism. For years, Egyptian resorts have become a favorite destination for Russian tourists, and the flow of foreign tourists to Egypt is an important source of national income.

The minister said, "In this regard, I would like to reiterate our interest in resuming direct flights between Russia and Egyptian resorts ... During recent years, the concerned specialists have undertaken a large and strong joint work in this direction. Therefore, I expect that flights from Russia to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh will resume soon."

 

Yesterday, Sunday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry announced that his country is counting on Moscow's decision to resume flights between Russia and Egyptian resorts.
