An-Najah News - Twitter has permanently suspended the account of US President Donald Trump, due to the risk of being used as to incite more violence.

The company said in a statement: "After carefully reviewing the recent tweets issued by President Donald Trump's account and the context surrounding them, specifically how they were received and interpreted on and off the site, we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement to violence."

 

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, said Thursday that the company will extend the ban on US President Donald Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts for at least two weeks until the transition process is completed.

 

On Wednesday, Twitter, Facebook and Snap temporarily shut down the accounts of US President Donald Trump, as tech giants scrambled to curb his claims about the presidential election, amid riots in Washington, DC.

 

For months, Trump and his allies exaggerated allegations of presidential election fraud, leading to a demonstration and storming of Congress on Wednesday.
