An-Najah News - An Australian man had a direct confrontation with a great white shark and punched him to save his wife from the shark’s clutches when he attacked her at a beach in the Port of Macquarie in the Australian state of New South Wales.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Chantal Doyle, 35, was attacked by a large white shark, two to three meters long, while she was surfing on the beach, seriously injuring her right leg.

Stephen Pearce, executive director of Surf Life Saving, the state's network of beach lifeguards, as saying that Doyle's said the husband had jumped off his skateboard toward shark.

"This man paddled quickly with his hands, jumped off his board on the shark, hit him to force him to leave her, then helped her to return to the beach - a truly heroic feat," he added.
