An-Najah News - Britain appointed diplomat Richard Moore as a new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service known as MI6. He was born in Libya and studied philosophy, politics and economics at Oxford University.

Moore is currently the director general of political affairs at the State Department.

Previously, he was director of the Foreign Intelligence Service and deputy national security advisor. He will replace Alex Younger who has been in this position for 6 years

Moore worked as Britain’s ambassador to Turkey from January 2014 to December 2017.
