An-Najah News - Hurricanes destroyed hundreds of apartment buildings in the American South on Monday, killing at least 26 people as bad weather hits the eastern coast of the United States.
Fifty-one million people from Florida to New England were in hurricane paths, with US meteorologists warning of strong winds and torrential rain, as well as the possibility of more hurricanes beating soon.
Local media and state officials reported that at least 11 people were killed in Mississippi, eight in South Carolina, six in Georgia, and one in Arkansas.
