An-Najah News - An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale hit Idaho, USA on Tuesday.

The American Geological Survey (Federal Agency) confirmed that the first tremors took place at approximately six in the evening, and the epicenter of the earthquake is located 118 km northeast of the city of Meridian, near the small mountain city of Stanley.

The geological survey indicated that more than two million people felt the tremors throughout the state, and some of them heard an echo before that.

No injuries due to the earthquake have yet been reported.

Earthquake expert, Lucy Jones, confirmed to the Associated Press that Idaho witnessed earthquakes of this magnitude every three or four decades, the last of which occurred in 1983, and it is likely that the area will feel more tremors within the coming hours.
