An-Najah News - Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman said that Messi’s decision must be respected whether he decided to stay at the club or leave for another challenge in the summer.
Messi returned to Barcelona’s squad for the match against Huesca after missing the team’s draw with Eibar last week.
“He did the interview and said he hasn’t taken any decisions. It must be respected. It’s not a problem. You have to respect his decision.” Koeman said.
Messi said in an interview earlier that he did not decide his future with the club. However, many reports said that the player will leave his childhood club in the summer.
Messi requested to leave the club last summer but Barcelona’s board refused to let him go for free and said that can only leave Barcelona if his €700 million release clause is met.
Koeman added “His game and his importance has been very great at the club. When the team didn’t play well, Leo would be there to win the game. That’s why he’s the best in the world.”
Barcelona aim to get back to the right track when they face Huesca on Sunday in the Spanish League.
