An-Najah News - The former Turkish goalkeeper, Rüştü Reçber, announced on Saturday that he has coronavirus, and was taken to hospital.
The announcement came through his wife Asil on her Instagram, where she said that he was taken to the hospital after it was confirmed that he was infected with the virus, noting that the results of her tests and the examinations of her two children were negative.
“My husband Rüştü took us to the hospital after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 virus. After everything was normal, we were surprised to see symptoms appear quickly on him," Aseel said, on her Instagram account, last night.
Aseel noted that her 46-year-old husband, Rüştü, is under isolation in hospital, and that they are not allowed to visit him, adding, "This is a very difficult period. I pray for a speedy recovery for all patients, including my husband."
Rüştü played 120 games for his country, which makes him the leading player on the international level in Turkey, and he starred with the team during Turkey's qualification for the 2002 World Cup semi-final.
Rüştü played for more than 10 years with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe, and also played for a short period with Barcelona, and retired from football in 2012, after 5 years with the Besiktas team.
