An-Najah News - Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli occupation army shooting yesterday at point-blank of Haroun Abu Aram, 24, that led to his paralysis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement: "this barbaric aggression is part of the ongoing Israeli occupation targeting of people in Masafer Yatta with the aim of increasing the pressure and restrictions on them to forcibly expel them and empty the area of them in order to seize it in its entirety in favor of settlements." While in Masafer Yatta, in the south of the occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers shot Abu Aram at point-blank in the neck with a live bullet as he attempted to prevent them from stealing his power generator. The bullet damaged his nerves and spine and the Ministry of Health said he was paralyzed in all four limbs.
We were documenting all Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people in order to bring them before the International Criminal Court, calling on the Court to quickly open an official investigation into Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinian people in order to hold accountable all Israeli war criminals, the Ministry said.
It also called on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its political, legal and moral responsibility and provide international protection to the Palestinian people, and on the Human Rights Council to form an international commission to investigate the criminal shooting of Abu Aram.
