An-Najah News - Primer Mohammed Shtayyeh met with European Union Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Susanna Terstal, and discussed the importance of the EU’s serious engagement in any future peace process.
He stressed to put pressure on Israel to respect the signed agreements and to stop settlement expansion.
he added that settlements building is systematically destroying the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
He stressed the importance of holding elections in Palestine and that elections are a survival strategy for the political system and it's not linked to external variables.
He added that the ongoing national dialogue is aimed to restore the democratic glow of Palestinian institutions and making the elections a gateway to address the consequences of the division.
