An-Najah News - According to a police statement A young woman was announced dead today after she was unintentionally shot by gunmen who were shooting in the air in celebration of a wedding in al-Amaari refugee camp, near Ramallah.

The young woman had arrived at Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah in a critical condition, but was announced dead of her wounds a couple of minutes later said Col. Lo’ai Rzekat, police spokesman.
 The woman’s sister was too injured in the hand during the incident while they were standing on the balcony of their home near the wedding where the shooting took place.

Palestinian officials and community leaders made calls to fight the phenomenon of purposeless shooting in the air during weddings and other celebrations in Palestine.
