An-Najah News - The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed that the Israeli plan to annex any parts of the occupied Palestinian territory may unleash confrontation and religious wars, which the international community prevent us to slip into.

Aboul Gheit considered in a statement today, Thursday, that the annexation represents a new brutal aggression against the Palestinian people and their sovereignty over their lands, a hostile step against the Arab and Islamic nations, and undermining the chances of establishing peace in the region for decades to come.

He said that such a step represents a blatant violation of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, represented by the United Nations resolutions, pointing out that the responsibility to defend Palestinian rights lies with the whole world.
