An-Najah News - Today, Saturday, Labor Minister Nasri Abu Jaish announced the start of distributing benefits to 40,202 workers affected by the Corona pandemic, as part of their program of support and assistance in the event of an emergency, in cooperation with the Waqf Ezz Fund and the General Union of Workers Syndicates.
Minister Abu Jaish said, during a press conference held at the ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah, that 276,000 workers were registered in the northern and southern governorates through the link announced by the ministry for 12 days.
This is due to the formation of a technical committee represented by the Ministry and the unions, to oversee the established standards, and later managed to all the names that filled out the forms, explaining that the criteria applied only to who filled out the form correctly, and reached the Ministry of Labor, and not to anyone who did not fill it.
And the aim of this assistance is to focus on the following sectors:
First: The workers who live from the pandemic of corona, and work in the local market (i.e. mostly daily laborers), and not workers who work inside the lands of the year 48, settlements, and Israeli industrial areas, indicating that other measures will be taken during the current week for workers who work in the occupied land in 1948.
Second: Focus on workers in affected areas.
Third: Focusing on workers under the age of 65, since workers over this age fall within the social status, and this is the role of the Ministry of Social Development.
Fourth: Focus on married couples who filled out the form and have more than two children.
Fifth: The focus was on workers in Jerusalem and the refugee camps.
