An-Najah News - Nablus - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave the Israeli occupation government the green light to begin considering implementing the West Bank and the Jordan Valley annexation detailed.

"The Israeli government will decide about the annexation, whether it will implement the plan, how, and when the annexation will take place," Pompeo said.

When he was asked how the United States would respond if Israel made a unilateral annexation step, without implementing other parts of the agreement, Pompeo evaded the direct response, saying, we presented our vision of peace a few months ago ... we still believe that this vision is well planned and it will achieve its goals.

In response to the concerns of senior security officials, about the implications of the annexation plan with Jordan, Pompeo replied, "I am not surprised that there are different positions regarding annexation in" Israel. "And I am sure that this unity government will make good decisions on how to annex,"

Experts have said Jordan might back away from its historic 1994 peace deal with the Jewish state if Israel annexes the Jordan Valley, a strategically crucial border region that accounts for roughly 30 percent of the West Bank.
