An-Najah News - The supposed Democratic candidate in the upcoming US presidential election, Joe Biden, stressed the need to put pressure on “Israel” to prevent it from taking unilateral steps that will lead to the collapse of the two-state solution.
Biden, who assumed the post of US Vice President under Barack Obama, announced in a statement issued to the Jewish News Agency JTA today, Wednesday: “The priority in the issue of establishing peace between “the Israelis” and the Palestinians should be due to the resumption of our dialogue with the Palestinians and put pressure on the occupation state not to take steps that could make the two-state solution impossible.”
Biden pledged, if elected president, to reopen the American consulate in East Jerusalem (concerned with Palestinian affairs), find a way to reopen the PLO representation in Washington and resume decades-old economic and security support efforts that were suspended by the administration of incumbent President Donald Trump.
Biden announced recently that he does not intend to review Trump's decision to move the Washington embassy in the occupation country from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which has angered the Palestinians and led to the suspension of contacts between the two sides almost entirely.
