An-Najah News - The Israeli occupation authorities approved a settlement plan to confiscate one hundred and forty acres to erect a large cemetery, which includes about thirty thousand graves, near the industrial area of Shaer Hasmonon in the northern West Bank.
Maariv newspaper reported that the heads of the local settlement councils; Shomron and Ornet, approved the establishment of the cemetery after obtaining political approval.
Nir Bertil, the head of the settlement council, Ornet, announced that they are about to establish a new industrial zone in the region.
Yossi Dagan, the head of the regional settlement council, Shomron, said that they are also preparing to settle a million Israelis in the northern West Bank and to establish infrastructure, transportation, educational buildings and institutions, as well as a cemetery that corresponds to the population increase, and keep them in the West Bank forever.
More than 650,000 Israeli settlers live in 150 settlements and 116 outposts in the West Bank and Jerusalem, 47% of them are in the vicinity of Jerusalem, settlements control 10% of the West Bank, and the occupation army controls 18% of the West Bank, due to military reasons, while the wall isolates about 12% of the West Bank.
