An-Najah News - Dr. Walid Al-Basha, a microbiologist and immunologist, stressed that the real situation in Palestine is not with the stated numbers, and we are in a situation where our borders are not safe to reach the stage of opening markets.

Regarding the confinement of the places where the pandemic has spread, he explained that we have in some governorates the possibility of having people who are infected but are asymptomatic, and the number of tests in Palestine did not cover the whole of Palestine, and we are waiting for the results of random samples that were taken by the Ministry of Health.

“We are not safe from the virus yet, and even if some industrial facilities were opened, every citizen should take care, as in Deir al-Assad a person who is infected transmitted the infection to 150 people, and despite how bored we feel in home-quarantine but we have not reached the safety stage,” he continued in an interview with “An-Najah.”

He added, “We must re-open shops gradually, such as closing for several days and opening again during the week, and so on, until we make sure that there is a gradual decline in the numbers of the infections, and if we restore life completely will not be able to control entire of Palestine.”

On the second wave of the virus, he pointed out that the second wave is expected on September or October, and we hope that we will have the treatment in that period so that we can keep pace with the disease, and we hope that a vaccine and the success of these experiments will arrive around the world, and consequently the virus becomes seasonal like the cold and flu.
