An-Najah News - Nablus - In the world press freedom day, the Israeli forces continues their violation against the Palestinian journalists, as they still have 12 journalists in their detention centers, among them, Mahmoud Issa, from Jerusalem, and who's considered one of the first prisoners who is sentenced to triple life and 46 years, Basim Khundaqji who is also sentenced to triple life, Ahmed Al-Sayfi who is sentenced to 17 years in prison and Munther Mofleh who is sentenced to 30 years in prison.
In the world press freedom day, May 3, the Palestinian prisoners society (PPS) released a press statement that says " the Israeli forces are using the detention policy in an attempt to undermining their cultural, social and political role, and prevent them from publishing the Israeli violations and crimes".
The occupation forces continues to follow the administrative detention policy against journalists and activists, in order to deprive them from their rights to express their opinions under the file "secret file". Among them, the journalist Bushra A-Taweel who was admitted to administrative detention more than once and still prisoned till this moment.
Last year, the journalist Mais Abu Ghoash, from Qalandia, was prevented of her right to meet her own lawyer during the investigation and was severely tortured for more than a month.
The PPS also declared that the Israeli authorities also targeted the journalist in the occupied Jerusalem, and prevented Palestine TV from working and summoned a number of them to investigate with them.
