An-Najah News - Nablus - Today, Thursday, the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development in Nablus Governorate announced that it has received food parcels to help poor and needy families, with the support of the European Union.

The Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Majdalani, stated that the ministry is now able to support 10 thousand new families with cash assistance, after the recent contribution made by the European Union, which amounted to about 12 million dollars.

He pointed out that the support of the European Union to the Palestinians includes several fields, whether on the political, economic or relief levels, as the relationship between Palestine and the European Union is deep.

The representative of the European Union, Seven Conn von Burgessdarff, stressed that the support of the Ministry of Social Development and the contribution in the payment of monetary aid comes from an ethical, humanitarian and economic standpoint that helps the Palestinian economy, adding that the political dimension is expressed by the Union’s position on the two-state solution and the rejection of settlement and the policy of annexation.

For its part, the Deputy Governor of Nablus, Annan Al-Atirah expressed her thanks to the European Union and the many contributions it made to the Palestinian people, as well as the efforts made by the Development Directorate in Nablus and all its field staff, and for the continuous cooperation between the governorate and the Directorate.
