An-Najah News - Ramallah - The Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies said that the occupation authorities did not respect the sanctity of the blessed month of Ramadan, and continued arresting Palestinians from all parts of Palestine. The center monitored (40) cases of detention of Palestinian citizens since the beginning of Ramadan.

The center's media spokesman, Riyad Al-Ashqar, said that the occupation endangers the lives of Palestinians by the continuous arrests in these exceptional circumstances, the corona pandemic, as the occupation continues the policy of arrests, ignoring all the risks that face the detainees.

Al-Ashqar added that, during this holy month, the occupation forces continued their operations to storm West Bank cities and villages, raid homes, search and attack citizens, and arrested dozens of them, including minor children and ex-detainees, half of whom are from occupied Jerusalem.

Al-Ashqar indicated that among the detainees during Ramadan are 6 minors, all of them from Jerusalem, the youngest of whom is Omar Abu Sbeitan, 14, and was arrested during clashes in the Al-Tor neighborhood in Jerusalem. Also, the son of the exiled Jerusalem deputy, Ahmad Atoun, was arrested and transferred to investigation.

The Occupation Intelligence also summoned the wife of the martyr, Mesbah Abu Sobeih, to investigate her at the Prison and Investigation Center (Al-Maskoubia) after storming her home, and leaving a notification to attend the investigation.

 Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian woman during her bypassing near a settlement west of Jenin, and alleged that she tried to infiltrate the Mevo Dotan settlement, and released her after hours of investigation.

Also, the occupation forces arrested the lawyer, Amr Ziyad Al-Salous, from Nablus, after stopping his vehicle, while he was heading to his work, at a military checkpoint near the settlement (Beit El) on the land of the citizens north of the city of Al-Bireh, and arrested the Jerusalemite activist, Muhammad Shalabi, after raiding his house In the old city in occupied Jerusalem.

The prisoners of Palestine Center called out for the intervention of human rights institutions to put pressure on the occupation to stop its arrests policy practiced against the Palestinians, which is considered a permanent human attrition, especially in these emergency circumstances, which constitutes a danger to their lives.
