An-Najah News - Settlement Researcher, Khaled Maali, said that the Israeli occupation authorities notified 22 homes and agricultural facilities of demolishing and stopping construction in the northern and eastern areas of Qarawat Bani Hassan west of Salfit. This is the largest seizure campaign done by the Israelis so far and the settlements and the seizure of land are rapidly increasing.
Maali explained during a phone call in a programme called “here is Palestine”: “the northern and eastern region of the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan belongs to the Burkan settlement; the occupation considers this area an extension of a vital area that includes large factories.
“The town is surrounded by a bypass road, a number of settlements, and the Qana Valley, which alone has 8 settlements on its outskirts, and therefore it is one of the most suffering towns due to the continuous increase in the number of settlement around it,” Maali continued.
“In the general framework, every Palestinian must not receive any notifications or practices by the occupation authorities, as farmers in the town delegated the legal center to protest against the demolition notices by the date of 2nd of June,” he stressed.
Maali pointed out that the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, in terms of installations and homes, is so close now to the Burkan settlement, as it is witnessing a great expansion.
