An-Najah News - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said the outbreak of corona virus in the Middle East threatens to destroy the lives of millions of people who are already suffering in conflict areas and may spark social and economic turmoil.
The committee added that curfews and isolation measures imposed as part of measures to maintain public health to curb the spread of the virus are already making it difficult for many to provide livelihoods for their families.
In a statement in which it cited the countries Syria, Iraq, Yemen, the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Jordan, the committee urged the authorities in the troubled region to prepare for “potential devastating repercussions” and “social and economic earthquakes”.
