An-Najah News - A Palestinian fisherman was injured during a pursuit by Israeli navy boats off the Gaza shore after chaseing several Palestinian fishing boats while sailing in the sea near the Gaza shores.
Israeli army opened fire at them injuring one fisherman, reported to be 23 years old, in the hand and leg by several rubber-coated metal bullets and he was transported to hospital in Gaza where he was reported in moderate condition.
As part of its 13-year-long stifling blockade on the Gaza Strip, Israel bans Palestinian fishermen from sailing more than three nautical miles in the northern Gaza shores.
Fishing is one of the main sources of income for hundreds of families in the impoverished Gaza Strip.
