An-Najah News - Nablus – Palestinian prisoners in Section (14) in the Israeli prison (Ofer) returned their meals as a first protest step, because the prison administration refused to take samples of the prisoners who were in contact with the freed prisoner, Sarsour, who has the virus.
Today, Thursday, the prisoners began to take individual steps, in an attempt to ward off the risks of coronavirus outbreak, specifically in section (14), and they handed yesterday a list of demands to the prison’s administration, according a statement released by the Palestinian Society Prisoner's Club.
However, the Israeli Prison Administration continues its allegations that there are no infections among the prisoners, despite its announcement of cases being recorded between its prisons and the quarantine of others.
The Prisoners Club renewed its call to all international human rights institutions to intervene to release the prisoners who suffer from illnesses, the elderly, women and children, and to the Red Cross, in order to ensure the safety of prisoners in Ofer Prison, and to press hard to provide the necessary procedures and measures in all prisons.
It is noteworthy that the prisoners had carried out protest steps during the month of March by returning meals and closing the sections.
