An-Najah News - Nablus - Government spokesman, Ibrahim Melhem, said that among the 15 people who were infected with the coronavirus, whom they announced this morning, was a 19-year-old freed prisoner from the town of Petunia.

Melhem said in a press statement that the liberated prisoner had spent two days in the "Asyoun" detention center, south of Bethlehem, and 14 days in the "12" section in the "Ofer" detention center, west of Ramallah, and he had a farewell ceremony before being released from the detention center. What was reported by the prisoners, as what Commission of Detainees Affairs confirmed in a phone call, in which they confirmed that the prison authorities closed the prison section without taking samples from the prisoners who were in contact with him to ensure their safety.

The prisoners now in Ofer Prison are in a mess after knowing that the prisoner is infected with the virus, according to the Commission.

The Commission held the Israeli occupation government and the Prison Administration fully responsible for this medical, immoral and inhuman crime, which is not protecting Palestinian prisoners from the danger of corona outbreak, and for not taking the necessary preventive measures.
