An-Najah News - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that it will resume the distribution of food aid in the Gaza Strip, tomorrow, Tuesday, 31 March 2020.

Adnan Abu Hasna, media advisor for UNRWA, said: "The agency decided to resume the distribution of food aid in the strip, starting tomorrow, Tuesday," noting that the mechanism for distributing food aid changed to direct delivery to refugee homes to ensure the health and safety of refugees beneficiaries, which is the highest priority for UNRWA, because of the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Abu Hasna indicated that the beneficiary families will not pay any fee when receiving food assistance, whether in cash or in kind for the delivery medium.

He added: "UNRWA decided to bear all the expenses in this regard, and the mediator will deliver the food parcel to the beneficiary refugees in their homes, as a precautionary step by (UNRWA) to prevent gatherings in the framework of steps to limit and prevent the spread of the corona virus."

Abu Hasna emphasized that families should not leave their homes to receive food parcels under any circumstances.
