An-Najah News - Nablus – The head of the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology, Dr. Abdulsalam AlKhayyat, confirmed that the coronavirus infections that started in Palestine were not local, all of the cases were from Palestinians travelling outside Palestine.
“The old lady from Biddo village, who was announced yesterday that she had the coronavirus, and later on died, got infected in the West Bank from her son and his wife, which is called local infection and that is seriously worrisome,” AlKhayyat said in an interview with An Najah News.
“It’s really distressing that only in one day after knowing that she had the virus, she died, which means people around her couldn’t know that she has the coronavirus,” he added.
“When the infection is not local, we can control it by closing borders, however, now it became local, which is really not a good sign,” AlKhayyat said.
It is noteworthy that the government’s spokesman, Ibraheem Melhem, announced on Wednesday evening that the woman from Biddo village died after only one day of knowing that she has the coronavirus.
