An-Najah News - 63 US Congress members signed on a letter addressed to the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo calling to oppose Israeli’s demolition of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
It also called to stop the continued forcible transfer of Palestinian civilians in the West Bank and to stop receiving any funding by the United States to be used to carry out the demolitions.
The memorandum referred to the extensive Israeli demolitions in "Wadi Homs" in Sor Baher, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
In this context, Fateh movement welcomed, in a statement issued by its revolutionary council member and its spokesperson, Osama al-Qawasmi, a letter to members of Congress on this position, who expressed a true understanding of the rights of the Palestinian people to live in freedom, dignity and justice in their state without demolishing homes and displacing families, and stopping the policy of collective punishment.
Al-Qawasmi said: "The American Congress, many American institutions and many American people, which reject the Israeli occupation and call for the implementation of the two-state solution on the basis of international legitimacy, and rejects Israeli policy and occupation measures, are appreciated and respected by the Palestinian leadership," and the Palestinian people.
