An-Najah News - Nutritionist Olga Korablev spoke about the value of rice for health and for those who should not eat it.
The expert noted that rice is a food product: boiled grains contain only 110-120 calories per 100 grams of the product. Complex carbohydrates keep you satiated for a long time and prevent you from overeating. The fat in rice is only 2.6 grams per 100 grams.
"Rice is rich in B vitamins, which are essential for the nervous system, potassium, manganese, zinc, magnesium and phosphorous. The grains are well absorbed and are a natural sorbent that removes toxins and prevents salt deposition," she said.
According to her, if you have a tendency to constipation, then you should eat rice no more than twice a week.
She added: "In the case of obesity, rice should be excluded: because it will increase bowel movement problems. It is not recommended to use white rice for diabetics: its sugar content is 70, and the sugar content of porridge in milk will already be 75. A perfectly healthy person should not eat more than 200 grams of boiled rice per day.
