An-Najah News - The Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, demanded in an online briefing, the international community to invest the time to prepare themselves for the next pandemic. 

He said that: "In a time when we fight COVID-19, we must use the window of oppourtinity we have to intensify our preparedness". 

He added from Geneva that: "we cannot keep searching for fund in the middle of this situation and the panic it causes". Noting that, the WHO along with the non-profit organizations and several countries increase their initiatives to insure a funding for producing and developing vaccines, in addition to testing and medicating people. 

He continued that: "these gaps not only harm the health of individuals, families and societies but also the global security and the economic development and expose them to danger". 

He also said: "prevention is not only better than cure but also less expansive".
