An-Najah News - Nablus - Many people deliberate many reports, that the type of blood type of a person may indicate that he/she is more susceptible to infection of corona than other blood types.

The Times News Now attempted to reveal the fact that those with A blood type are more likely to be infected with COVID-19.

The statements of Dr. Naga Suresh Bhattacharya, virologist in the life sciences department at the Indian University of “Shiva Nadar”, were quoted as saying that the blood group might play a role in the severity of a person's infection with coronaviruses.

“As for the blood group and its role, there is a preliminary study conducted in China, confirming that those with blood type A may be more likely to be infected with coronavirus, and they are more at risk of contracting other acute diseases, than those who have blood type O, which is described as being more disease-resistant.”

And she continued: “There is as yet no scientific evidence to link the blood groups to infection with infectious diseases, which link the blood group with COVID -19 so far.”

“Anyone can catch the Corona virus by touching the surfaces contaminated with the virus, but it appears that the study talks about the relationship of resistance of the body and the immune system to the blood group, which needs further study,” she added.
