An-Najah News - Agencies - Experts have warned that an outbreak of the Corona virus could cause millions of deadly cancer diseases in the future.

The researchers pointed out that the efforts made by scientists and doctors to combat the corona virus greatly affect the quality of treatment that cancer patients receive.

They pointed out that the rehabilitation and use of health systems, the imposition of the policy of home quarantine and social separation greatly affect cancer patients.

They also warned that the majority of cancer patients postpone sessions of chemotherapy and surgical operations due to the corona pandemic.

The experts confirmed that they conducted this research in cooperation with Royal University College London, Split University and Queen's University in Belfast.

“We have greatly observed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer patients, which threatens another pandemic in the future,” said Professor Mark Laure, Queen University.

“The rate of cancer care has been reduced significantly, in addition to allocating a large number of cancer doctors to face the corona pandemic,” he added.

“If we do not act now, we risk the lives of millions who may develop cancer in the future,” he continued.
