The study justified its findings that infection with the virus increases the production of immune cells in the lungs excessively, which poses a risk for diabetics.

Shi Liu from Wuhan University said that this increase in the production of immune cells often occurs in the lungs, and increases the risk of the patient dying from the virus.

Sometimes the body's response to infection can be excessive. When the corona virus enters the lungs, it leads to a large immune response, causing local inflammation.

And the excessive increase in cytokine can cause serious harm to the patient with diabetes, which may lead to his death, and this is the reason that diabetics are at greater risk than others of dying from corona virus.
