An-Najah News - Nablus - The American newspaper "New York Times" revealed new effects of coronavirus which is striking the nervous system, especially the brain.
“Among the new symptoms of corona, neurological disorders, and strokes," noting that these symptoms appeared on a small group of patients who were infected with the virus, the newspaper added.
"Neurologists around the world believe that there is a small subset of corona patients who are suffering from brain disorders," according to New York Times.
The newspaper cited the case of a 74 -year-old man, who arrived at a hospital in Florida with fever and cough, in early March.
An X-ray examination showed that the patient was suffering from severe acute respiratory syndrome, but doctors said there is no need for hospitalization and ordered him to return to his home.
The next day, his health deteriorated and his temperature rose sharply, so members of his family took him back to the hospital, and there he was suffering from shortness of breath and was no longer able to pronounce his name or explain what happened to him.
“He lost the ability to speak, and he was suffering from symptoms of Parkinson's disease, and his limbs were convulsed, and after being tested for coronavirus, he got positive results,” added the newspaper.
