An-Najah News - Dr. Ziyad Al-Arandi, a psychiatric and neurological specialist, urged citizens in home quarantine to follow the directives launched by the Ministry of Health, in the framework of fighting the new coronavirus (Covid-19), and work to use the quarantine period to enhance family relations and develop personal skills, and to avoid all rumors.

Dr. Al-Arandi, during his talk on the Hwana Al-Watan program, which is broadcast on An-Najah channel daily, pointed out that there are psychological pressures faced by people in home quarantine, noting that the quarantine procedure aims to protect the family and society from the outbreak of coronavirus. He called on people to adhere to the necessity of prevention, personal hygiene and taking care of the cleanliness of the water. However, at the same time, the use of sterilizers should not be exaggerated, as it leads to psychological problems including "obsessive-compulsive disorder and cravings from dirt" to other health consequences that lead to many infections, and avoiding rumors which in turn leads to confusion and panic among people.

He noted that the period of home quarantine is a golden opportunity to improve all family relations in all its forms, especially in light of the social media that was widespread and controlling the generations, which led to a gap between family members.

The psychologist advised men not to interfere in the home affairs and with the privacy of women during this period, which would create many problems, in addition to significantly reducing the follow-up to the news because that would lead to panic, fear and psychological pressure, and the need to focus on maintaining the integrity of the immune system, explaining that fear affects white blood cells, which in turn affects the immune system responsible for protecting the body from disease.
