Forrest Fein, 89, who invented the idea of a treasure hunt, revealed on Sunday June 7, that the decade -long search for his 19 kg treasure, which cost five men their lives while trying to find it, was over, after a man sent him a picture of the hidden box in the Rocky Mountains.
Finn wrote in his announcement of finding the treasure: "It was hidden under a canopy of stars, among the woody plants of the Rocky Mountains, and he did not move it from where it was hidden before 10 years ago."
Finn added: "I don't know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the place."
Finn, from San Francisco, New Mexico, noted that the treasure was found by a man who does not want to be known, who confirmed his discovery of the treasure by sending him a picture.
The treasure contains gold pieces, sculptures of Chinese faces in jade, antique jewelry of rubies and emeralds, and gold mirrors from prehistoric times.
