An-Najah News - Ramallah - Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that 77 deaths and 1445 infections, in addition to 649 recoveries, were recorded among our community members around the world.
The Ministry stated, in its daily report, that its team is following the issue of stranded people in all countries, getting numerous calls to return them to the homeland.
The ministry noted that President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad al-Maliki, and Head of the General Intelligence Service Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj, are following up in cooperation with all relevant Palestinian parties the issue of their return, standing at their needs and working to meet them at all levels, health, living and treatment , noting that this includes continued coordination and communication with the neighboring countries to obtain the necessary approvals to operate airports and border crossings.
The team appealed to all the stranded students and citizens, permanent contact with the embassies of Palestine, and to contact the emergency numbers announced by it and the cells of the crisis formed in all countries in order to provide services to them.
A shipment of medical aid from China to face Corona
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its representative office in Ramallah, informed the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates that the government of the People's Republic of China will send a second shipment of medical aid and supplies to support facing the threat of an outbreak of the Corona Virus in the Palestinian territories.
In this regard, Minister Riyad al-Maliki thanked, on behalf of Palestine, the friendly People's Republic of China for its generous and continuous contributions to support the health sector in Palestine, as China provided a large medical aid shipment that reached our people, in addition to other medical donations made by the Chinese company “Ali Baba”.
The ministry added that the Embassy of Palestine to Malta reported that after the recent message of the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad al-Maliki to his Maltese counterpart, the embassy received a call from the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, informing it of the Maltese government's approval to donate medical materials to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, to combat the Corona virus, It is 5,000 face masks, 2,000 sterile medical suits against viruses, and 20,000 face masks, which will be scheduled for delivery later.
The Palestinian Ministry stressed that our embassy is following up the conditions of the community, students and stranded people to check on their health and provide any possible assistance to those in need, and that no infections have been recorded for Palestinians yet.
Three new coronavirus cases were recorded for Palestinians in USA, which totalizes the number of infections there to 741, 48 of which died. Additionally, two new COVID-19 deaths of Palestinians were recorded in the UAE and 21 new cases.
No new cases for Palestinians were recorded in Austria, Poland, Pakistan, Morocco, or Bulgaria.
There are 13 Palestinians stranded in Indonesia and they are all in good condition and no one got infected with the virus until now.
