An-Najah News - Nablus - According to the Palestinian's government spokesman, Ibraheem Melhem, (19) new infections cases  in Silwan, Wadi Hilweh, in occupied Jerusalem were reported.

This came in a statement issued by him this afternoon, in which he indicated that Israel holds full responsibility for the lives of our people in the Holy City, indicating that the occupation measures prevent the government from monitoring the development of the epidemiological situation among citizens in the city.

The government is closely following the conditions and needs of our people through official institutions and bodies, especially the Ministry of Jerusalem and Governorate Affairs, and the difficulties that stand before them while carrying out their duty to provide services to our people due to the obstacles imposed by the occupation authorities, the latest of which was the arrest of the Minister of Jerusalem and its governor, according to Melhem.

“According to local sources, the number of infections in the occupied city has reached (37) infections, while human rights sources indicate that the infections among our people in occupied Jerusalem range between (65-70) cases,” he added.

“As the government extends its salutations to our people in the city, and thanks them for their awareness and prompt response to the instructions and preventive measures, and their commitment to announce any infection cases between them, it condemns the measures that hinder the national authorities and institutions from carrying out their duties towards our people, and calls on the international community to intervene to hold Israel as the occupation authority to carry out its responsibilities in accordance with international law,” he said.
