An-Najah News - An expert in the diagnosis of genetic diseases, Dr. Hossam Abu Farsakh, confirmed that the corona virus can develop itself and may last for more than a year or two and will come in waves of varying intensity.

He pointed out that the virus covers itself with a fatty substance or capsule, and therefore the lower the temperature, the more it remains, but if the temperature starts to rise, it may lead to dissolving the fatty capsule. The thing to say is that the higher the temperature, the less chances that the virus will live.

He added during an interview with An-Najah: “this is based this on several things. Most of those who study viruses and the nature of their mutations have compared it to the Spanish flu, which lasted for two years, and they found it similar to this virus even in the way it killed people. However, corona virus differs from other viruses such as SARS and H1N1.”

With regard to the possibility of the decrease of the virus spread during summer, the consultant for the diagnosis of genetic diseases said, “We hope that the spread of the virus will diminish with the summer, but we cannot say that this is definite. We have no evidence to confirm this, as the reality says it may not be true.” For example, the virus is spread in Africa even though the temperature is high there.

Regarding the ability of viruses to develop themselves, he explained that viruses do not remain with the same genes. For example, the regular flu every year changes its genes, so vaccination is taken against it every year.

He hopes that the corona virus will change its genes to the best for humans. The Spanish flu’s virus (1918-1919) changed twice, and that was in October, when 25 people died out of every 1000, while it changed again to a less severe gene and ended after that.
