An-Najah News - The prisoners and human rights institutions said that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 357 palestinian citizens during March, including 48 children and four women, despite the great fears of the spread of the corona virus.

The institutions added that, as of the end of March 2020, the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the Israeli occupation jails reached nearly 5000, including 41 prisoners, while the number of child detainees reached approximately 180 children, and administrative detainees for approximately (430), and the number of administrative detention orders issued reached (92).

The Prisoners and Human Rights Institutions (the Prisoners Club, The Committee of Detainees Affairs, and Al-Dameer Prisoner Care and Human Rights Foundation) reported, within a fact sheet issued today, that the occupation authorities arrested (192) citizens from Jerusalem, and (33) citizens from Ramallah Al-Bireh, (45) citizens from Hebron, (19) citizens from Jenin, and from Bethlehem (3) citizens, while (23) citizens from Nablus and Tulkarm were arrested (11) citizens, and (18) citizens from Qalqilya, As for Tubas, they arrested five citizens, in addition to (8) citizens from Gaza.

                                                                                                                                                                

At a time when the world is facing the corona pandemic, and in light of the precautionary measures that the earth is taking to fight the virus, approximately 5,000 prisoners are suffering from difficult conditions that can be described as inhumane and unhealthy, which increases the fears of a virus outbreak among them, especially detainees who suffer from illnesses, who are about (700) prisoners.

In light of these difficult health conditions that the prisoners suffer from, the failure of the prison administration to implement all preventive measures, and its refusal to provide cleaning materials and sterilizers, there are increasing fears of recording corona infections, especially among the sick and elderly prisoners who suffer from immune deficiency and various diseases including cancer, kidneys and heart problems. 16 prisoners of which are trapped in tragic circumstances in what is called Al Ramla prison clinic, which the prisoners named as "slaughterhouse."
