An-Najah News - The writer Abdullah Abu Sharh, detained by Hamas security services in Gaza, announced the start of open hunger strike, according to his lawyer, the lawyer of the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms "Mada", Ihsan Abu Sharkh.

The lawyer warned from the deterioration and worsening of the health status of the writer Abdullah Abu Sharkh, as a result of his hunger strike, calling for the competent authorities in the security services to add pressure to stop his arrest and his immediate release, as he suffers from extremely complex psychological and health conditions since his arrest.

Abu Sharkh explained that the writer Abdullah Muhammad Abu Sharkh, who has been detained by the Hamas security forces in the Gaza Strip, because of his critical writings and political views since 13th of March, 2020, and he announced that he will start his hunger strike, by a phone call yesterday.

He pointed out that the writer Abdullah Abu Sharkh is 57 years old, and that efforts to release him through the various national frameworks, bodies and personalities have not achieved the result so far, and stressed the necessity of his immediate release and the immediate cessation of the policy of arrests on the background of freedom of opinion and expression and the law.
