An-Najah News - Nablus - Egyptian virologist, Ahmed Shaheen, emphasized that the entire world is facing the biggest health crisis, in addition to the widest quarantine in history, and that the corona virus is more prevalent than SARS, and this depends on human awareness and safety measures and the extent of commitment to it, and some countries have tolerated taking the necessary measures.

“Regarding the vaccine for this pandemic, if countries like Russia and China say they have the vaccine, then believe that they do, because they started working on a vaccine for SARS a long time ago, and now they just have to continue working on it, because coronavirus is 80-90% like SARS,” he said in an interview with An Najah News.

He continued: "The Corona virus will continue for maybe several months and maybe a year, but expectations indicate that this pandemic will subside by the summer."

Shaheen stressed the need for citizens to adhere to precautionary measures and stay in their homes. He continued: "There is no medicine for the pandemic so far, we only have two weapons: washing hands constantly and the immunity of the human body,” and he described the Chinese city, Wuhan, as a spark of hope after being able to control the virus.
