An-Najah News - The daily consumption of watermelon for children ranges from 80 grams to 150 grams of pulp, and 500 grams for adults.

Pediatrician Marina Lerman said: "A child at the age of 2-3 years should not eat more than 80 -100 grams of watermelon pulp, and when he reaches the age of 3-6 years, one serving can be increased to 150 grams of pulp."
The doctor advised not to offer red watermelon to children under the age of two because it may provoke a food allergy to them.
For her part, Dr. Yelena Tikhomirova determined the daily rate of red watermelon for adults. and advised them not to eat more than 500 grams per day, provided that they do not eat other starches at the same time. The doctor indicated that red watermelon can be eaten at any time of the day, but not before bed.
She said, "It is not permissible to eat one kilogram of red watermelon in one meal, because our bodies cannot simultaneously absorb 60 grams of pure starches. In sum, the body digests and absorbs 20-30 grams of starches, while the rest turns into fats that accumulate in the body. ".
It is noteworthy that August 3 is considered the "International Red Watermelon Day".
