An-Najah News - Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said Sunday that 20 deaths from COVID-19, 699 new infections and 1015 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.
In her daily report on the COVID-19 pandemic, Alkaila said 12 people died in the West Bank and seven in the Gaza Strip, but said there were no updates about the situation in occupied East Jerusalem.
She added that Ramallah had the highest number of cases (110), followed by Nablus (90), Hebron (48), Jenin (48), and Tulkarm (39).
In the Gaza Strip, a total of 232 new cases were registered. Meanwhile, Alkaila said the ministry did not receive any updates regarding the number cases in occupied East Jerusalem.
Alkaila pointed out that 98 COVID-19 patients are currently under intensive care, of whom 22 are on ventilators.
The Health Minister noted that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 89.2 percent, while active cases slightly declined to 9.7 percent. Deaths slightly rose to 1.1 percent of total infections.
