Palestine celebrates the Palestinian Teacher’s Day on the fourteenth of December. It is a national occasion in which the nation crosses to fulfill the message of the prophets.

This day bears a national symbolism, the roots of which are related to a struggle that began in 1972 when dozens of teachers were oppressed and abused by the Israeli occupation authorities for their national role of protecting the educational process from interference by the occupier and his attempts to impose tutelage on it, in addition to their demand for their fair trade union rights. Up to December 14, 1980 AD, the first teachers ’march began, challenging the occupation and its military rule from the Expatriate School in Al-Bireh towards the Military Government building; The teachers were severely beaten, assaulted with excessive force, and arrested by the Israeli occupation forces.

Among them were the leaders of the Teachers ’General Committee, which was formed through district committees from school teachers in each governorate, after which the Teachers’ General Committee declared a successive strike for 75 days What led to the refraction and compliance of the occupation authorities to the demands of teachers
