Since August 13, the pro-Ankara factions have stopped the water pumps in Al- Alouk station in Syria
The city of Hasaka in northern Syria has been suffering from a water crisis for nearly two weeks, after the Turkish forces controlling the city of Ras Al-Ain cut off pumping water supplies to the city.
Since the 13th of this August, the pro-Ankara Syrian factions have stopped the water pumps in Al-Alouk station, east of the city of Ras Al-Ain, to cut off water from the city of Hasaka and its countryside for the eighth time since they took control of the cities of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad late last year.
Media official of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Syria, Salam Al-Janabi, said that it is dangerous to expose children and families to drought and the possibility of them using unsafe water due to the interruption of drinking water from Al-Alouk station in the countryside of Hasaka.
Al-Alouk station is the main source of water for about 460,000 people in Al-Hasakah, Tal Tamer, and Al-Hol and Areesheh camps, according to the United Nations organizations.
