An-Najah News - The Lebanese Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, announced today, Sunday, her resignation from the government.

 "I apologize to the Lebanese who were unable to meet their aspirations," Abdel Samad said in statements reported by the Lebanese National News Agency.

This comes, a few days after the explosion, which targeted the Beirut port last Tuesday, which has so far killed 160 people, and injured about 6,000 others.

Abdel Samad, is the second to announce her resignation from the Lebanese government after the resignation of Foreign Minister Nassif Hatti, two days before the explosion.
