An-Najah News - Najah News - A Chinese study suggests that coronavirus is not transmitted from mothers to their newborn babies if they give birth by cesarean section.

12 infants born by C-section in Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, had no symptoms of COVID-19 despite all being born to infected mothers, scientists found.  

"We have found that a cesarean delivery method is the safest way to protect a child from illness," said Dr. Yalan Liu, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China.

He added that they need more studies in order to understand this relationship and check other aspects.
