France, Germany, Egypt, Jordan and other countries already criticized and expressed refusing the planned annexation in a joint statement.

The statement stressed that the annexation would create a "major obstacle to efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and just peace" in Palestine and Israel.

The French President’s office said Emmanuel Macron demanded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to go ahead with annexing Palestinian land in the West Bank. 

Macron stressed that "such a move would contravene international law and jeopardize the possibility of a two-state solution as the basis of a fair and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians." in a phone call with Netanyahu.
